This idea disappeared frequently because plastic tends to become hard and crack over time. Most people won’t even realize it’s changed.

Ensure the RAM locks are released initially.
Align the notch of the RAM stick with the corresponding area in the RAM slot.
Insert them firmly and evenly.

I've mostly had to push harder than needed to place the RAM correctly. Newer DIMMs such as DDR and DDR2 are especially tough to set in, though it improves with DDR3 and DDR4. That sensation remains.

DDR5 performance has been reported to be quite challenging recently. Despite repeated use over the years, I haven’t noticed much difference since I understand you can’t apply excessive pressure. Just ensure you maintain a straight alignment and avoid twisting the RAM, for instance.

It makes sense. I only installed DDR5 when supervising and teaching, so I wasn’t fully involved in the setup. It definitely felt more challenging than my experience with DDR4.
