Are there any guides or steps available on this platform to carry out this action? After looking into it, I don’t require the Pro OS. I already possess a purchased key for the home edition, though I haven’t utilized it yet. Appreciate your help.

AFAIK, there is no "downgrade", just a complete reinstallation.
Windows 11 clean install tutorial guide. This guide aims to assist you through each step of performing a fresh installation of Windows 11 version 23H2 or later. It can also be used for previous versions, though some visual differences may exist while overall functionality remains largely unchanged.

This guide will help you reduce Windows 11 Pro to Windows 11 Home without losing any features. You might need to downgrade from Pro, Education, or Enterprise to Home. Follow these steps carefully.

In your case, reinstall the operating system using a bootable USB drive for Windows 11 Home. The license key on the BIOS should activate it automatically. Always back up important data before proceeding.

Regardless of the approach you use, ensure you have a reliable backup of everything you don’t want to risk losing.

Please consider if it would be simpler to turn off your present PC and apply the Win 10 Pro key for the fresh installation instead. You intended to utilize the leftover Windows 11 home flash drive for a completely clean setup on the existing (older) machine that your wife will take over.

Which licenses are actually available? Win 10 Pro, Win 11 Pro, Win 11 Home? The 'flash drive' is not relevant. Only the license key is important.

I own the license for the Win 10 Pro installed on my current PC. After upgrading in December 2023, I also acquired a Win 11 Home key that I haven’t used. I’m considering using the Win 10 Pro license on the new machine if I first deactivate it on the old one, before performing a clean install of Win 11 Home.

OK.
Win 10 Pro
Win 11 Home
Two systems available.
A Win 11 Pro installation can be enabled using a Win 10 Pro license.
To transfer that license to another device, simply check your MS account and inform it you are now using this license on the new computer.
There is no actual deactivation process.
Provided, of course, the license remains connected to your MS account.

Where exactly are you during the setup and installation of these systems?
It could be simpler and more effective to begin anew.
Performing a full reset and reinstallation might be preferable instead of attempting to downgrade something.

I wondered why my post from the 17th of this month in another thread was cited here.
