How to raid two m.2 for asus b550-f mobo
I own two M.2 drives—one Gen4 (Samsung 980 Pro 1TB) and another Gen3 (Samsung 980 1TB). Both are NVMe. I also have a SATA SSD, Samsung EVO 259GB, intended for backup. Could using it affect performance or cause problems? Would it still work for RAID setup? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.
This setup is intended for boot purposes, not for non-boot operations. You're aiming for high performance by using the fastest possible drive speed. Usually, you should have more storage than the one you're using as the source. Just treat them as two distinct drives if needed.
Assume the Gen 4 is your main storage device. Windows doesn’t currently allow RAID booting, and if you intend to use RAID 0 (same capacity, double performance), your data becomes very vulnerable. Unless you’re handling massive files, you won’t notice the difference.
