On my PC I sometimes use the 3.5mm microphone for karaoke. To get the sound, I need to adjust a setting in the sounds menu. The screenshot shows that without the microphone, I’m using a different PC... but I hope this clarifies where to go. I understand how to reach it via the control panel and select “playback.” However, instead of walking through those steps, I’d like to jump straight to the exact menu I need and create a shortcut or taskbar item. That way, if I need the microphone, I just click once and reach the setting quickly. Someone else might prefer a single-click solution instead of guiding them through multiple steps. I didn’t notice an obvious method for this. A related question is about linking to specific settings: I’m trying to make a cheat sheet for optimizing my PC. Most guides say “go to settings, then go to…”. I want a Google doc or similar where I record the changes I make on a new PC, but I’d like a direct link to that setting or location in the settings. Is this possible? Thanks for understanding, but linking to a specific setting seems more useful.

On your Windows 10 setup, locate the old control panel, select Sound and choose "Create Shortcut." A prompt will appear asking if you'd like to place it on the desktop.

It functioned identically on W11. It seems there isn<|pad|>, no method available to reach two levels deeper.
