We’re looking to play PVP with a friend. We both own the game long ago, but if cracks are available, I’m okay downloading one. Right now we’re on mobile data without internet thanks to an ISP issue, though the router is still functional. Would it be possible to play CIV V PVP without an internet connection? (We also have Civ BE, but we prefer CIV V.)

Link any connected devices to your home router. Pick a host machine and navigate to the main menu. Go to Multiplayer > Local Network > Host game, then set up your game or match details. Participants should be able to view the local network lobby and join easily. Make sure both of you have compatible versions and the same DLC for smooth play.

No, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to delete your DLC.

Turn off unnecessary options in the main menu that aren’t yours, restart the game, and you’ll be all set. If those settings can’t be removed via the menu, open Steam, click on the game in your library, choose DLC, and uncheck the ones you don’t own before relaunching.
