How to overclock my 6700k, and how far?
I have an i7-6700k and want to overclock it for better performance. I have a few questions.
First, my motherboard has an Asus Maximus VIII Hero. In the BIOS, I can adjust core speed and voltage in manual mode, but the voltage is always much higher than needed during full load. Why is that? Should I let the motherboard set it automatically or risk it going even higher?
Also, what temperature limits should I aim for? I own a Cryorig H7 with an affordable air cooler; I’ve heard 90°C is safe.
In the same way, how much voltage should I increase? How can I make sure it doesn’t exceed the setting in my BIOS?
