You can adjust the cable to 7v by crimping the internal pin on the molex, removing it and inserting it into the opposite farthest hole—so you added a pin on both sides. Or you can purchase a pre-made version.

The Molex Adapter lacks PWM functionality; it only works with fans that support PWM. Consider using a fan controller or a fan limiter.
