How to open GXT 108 mouse
My scroll wheel isn't functioning well and I suspect it's dirty inside, so I'm trying to open it. I discovered a screw beneath a sticker, but the bottom part is loose now, while the top part still won't move, as if there are more screws. I don't see any other screws under the sticker or sliding pads, and I don't want to force it to avoid breaking something. How can I open it?
Welcome to the forums, new member! If your mouse is not very recent, consider returning it or reaching out to their support team to find a replacement. Regarding the scroll wheel, it's better to replace the scroll wheel on the mouse rather than just cleaning it. When opening the mouse, check under the skates for the mouse and use a spudger to move along the seams.
If there's only one screw, then usually the back of the case (the side opposite the cable) pivots up until you can get the hooks in front to unlatch by sliding forward.
As for warranty, these are essentially the same as the mice on aliexpress for $6 shipped, so the postage would exceed its value. These often have a floating lens assembly and PCB inside (no screws!) which wouldn't be an issue except the case is so flimsy that slamming the mouse around can cause either to come adrift inside, so you'd best get good at disassembling it anyway.
