You can retrieve the original manufacturer's key from your old PC using a tool like ShowKey Plus. However, since you've reformatted the system and installed a new Windows 10 version with your own activated key, the firmware may no longer contain the OEM key. Changing it would require accessing the firmware directly, which can be complex and may not always be feasible. It’s best to keep the original key for future use if needed.

For older gadgets, it's often feasible to apply the original manufacturer's key on another device.

I’m focusing on moving the purchased key rather than the original OEM version. The activation will be applied to the older PC that was bought from a manufacturer.

You're asking about using the original manufacturer's key on a different device. The issue might be that the key isn't compatible with the new device. Simply swapping the key won't work if it doesn't match the system requirements.

This version functions properly; I've tested it myself: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd...iewer.html

The OEM key is placed at the bottom of the PC. If it was initially intended for Windows 7, it may still function depending on the system version.

I understand, I faced a comparable issue. My laptop came preloaded with Home, I purchased a Pro key and upgraded from Home to Pro, but activation failed with the message "My machine is already tied to a Home key." I attempted everything—contacted MS, tried ringing them, explained the situation, and even spent time with them trying to activate using the Pro key. Despite his efforts, he couldn't get it to work. My laptop still operates under Home settings.

On W10 it should function properly. I’ve noticed Windows continues to accept W7 keys even in W10. Just verify the operating system version is correct.

It's interesting how I moved from the standard version to a pro key without any issues. Since I didn't purchase a Windows license for the device, that could have been the reason. Still, I'm confident this should work in general.
