Hi
I have two PCs – one with a laptop running Windows 7 and another with a desktop running Windows 10. Both use the same printer, HP Laserjet 1600, and the same software, Libre Office Writer. I’m happy with the printing on the laptop because I can choose the 600 page size instead of 2400, which gives a better black and white economy print.

On the desktop, the interface is different and I’m not sure why. It doesn’t let me use the 600 for economical printing.

Why does the interface change? What should I do?
Thanks

since it's an older printer, hp didn't develop a complete feature driver for windows 10
does the printer have a built-in setting to set the default quality?

what you mean is if i can instruct the printer to print 600 by pressing its button directly?
i don't understand.
could i install a win 7 driver on a win10 system?
are you suggesting it's not a full driver since they label it as basic?
also, how can i confirm whether a universal driver will achieve 600 dots and function properly with my printer?

I attempted to install the universal driver, but it appears to have the 600 installed while sending documents—it doesn't print. I also downloaded the Win7 64 driver and used the troubleshooter, which said it would test it but didn't show the 600 option.
