You're facing a common issue when upgrading hardware. Since you don't have the serial key, moving Windows 8 to an SSD without reactivation isn't straightforward. You'd likely need to use a recovery tool or reinstall the OS from a bootable USB drive. Consult the PreBuilt documentation or contact their support for guidance on transferring Windows 8 to a new SSD.

If possible, try to reinstall Windows completely. It will work much better without the chance of harming or losing any data. Be sure to install on the SSD during the process.

I support this advice and also remind you to disconnect all hard drives before installing Windows, as the operating system might load files from them, which could slow it down.

You don’t have the activation key because it’s your original manufacturer’s version. To move Windows 8 from an HDD to a SSD, you’ll need to back up your data and then use the built-in tools or third-party software to transfer it.

I'm not entirely confident, but you might want to look up YouTube and Google. Stay informed and remember the details.

The activation key isn't on a sticker, but it's usually printed on the back of the case. Earlier models had it there, and this version should match that layout without the prominent white section with bar codes.
