Attempting access to shares until connections are established wouldn't be effective. Have you installed any security software? Did you verify through the interface that it displays as private after configuration? Consider restarting the system and confirming the correct port is being used.

Both devices display the private network. The private network firewall is disabled, and no extra security programs are installed. It’s unclear if it’s possible to send a ping to a specific port.

The routing table manages this automatically, determining the correct IP for each port. I’d really consider restarting both computers if you haven’t already, since Windows networking can behave oddly during configuration changes, even though the console shows expected outcomes.
