Hello
I can help with that. Cleaning ink inside an inkjet printer requires care to avoid damage. You might try using a soft cloth and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the area. Avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive force. If needed, a cotton swab can be used carefully inside the printer. Always refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines for safe cleaning methods.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter because if you buy a new one, the printer is essentially free because the ink that you get with it is more valuable than the printer itself.
Inkjet printers are garbage anyway because ink is expensive and it dries out even if you don't use it. I decided long ago to just get a colour laser printer (Okidata C3400N) and it lasted me from 2008-2021. I replaced it with a Samsung colour laser. I honestly can't think of a reason why I would ever buy an Inkjet again.

I don't have the funds to purchase a new printer and would prefer to hold onto this one until I can afford it.

I know the challenge, but I'm not sure how to fix an inkjet printer without using harsh chemicals that might harm the electronics.

Could you use isopropyl alcohol to clean your printer after a major ink leak? You mentioned using cotton buds with IPA, and IPA in a squeeze bottle for the rest. This approach seems reasonable.

I would take it to a PC repair shop and pay for the cleanup. This way there would be less trouble.
The theory is you could use IPA to clean it, but the ink won't evaporate. IPA will. With IPA, you could smudge the ink to even worse spots, leading to hardware (PCB) replacement if the ink isn't already there.
