How to link a Panasonic HC-V770K camcorder to a desktop computer?
Hi Gang, I'm running Windows 10 Pro.
I'm trying to locate the correct cable (and possibly a PCIe card) to transfer data from my Panasonic HC-V770 camcorder to my Dell Precision 3620 Workstation, which has an i7-7700K 4.20 GHz CPU.
I see digital outputs on the HC-V770K (both USB and Micro HDMI ports).
I already have an IEEE1394 PCIe card installed in one of the slots on the 3620 Workstation, and I also have built-in USB-2 and USB-3 ports on the desktop.
I'm not sure if I should connect via USB or PCIe card, and which cable to purchase?
Thanks a lot, Gang!
1394 is known as Firewire. You might require a HDMI to Firewire cable or adapter. But Firewire is mostly outdated, so it's better to skip the current PCIe card and install a new one if needed.

USB 2.0 or 3.0 would be a simpler and more modern choice. USB cables are easily available.
Hey Ralston!
Thanks for your response...
I understand the need for a proper PCIe card.
The main issue right now is finding the correct cables for this Panasonic HC-V770 camcorder. It seems we need either a Micro USB cable or a Micro HDMI cable. Also, it looks like using a USB 2.0 Micro Cable might be slower. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
The required speeds depend on the connection path.
There is ample documentation about USB speeds.
You may have already explored similar resources.
Additional factors to consider are:
1) The actual advertised product speeds were how they were measured.
2) The quality of construction and materials used.
Even high-quality products can be compromised by poor design or assembly.
I recommend testing several cables to see which meets your needs best.
Compare options, evaluate performance, and choose accordingly.
Test the cables, measure speeds if possible, and pick the one that suits you.
Ensure you understand the seller’s return policies before buying.
