Hello everyone, we recently purchased the HP Pavilion 570-p023w desktop with a 128 SSD. It comes with a Lubin motherboard. Could anyone help us install Windows on the SSD? We already have Windows 10 UEFI on a USB drive with a license key. Thanks!

You insert the thumb drive, then launch the PC as usual. It runs just like any other application.

Ensure the USB port is activated, adjust the BIOS settings to confirm boot options for USB or external storage. Once the system launches, follow the on-screen prompt by pressing any key. Proceed with the installation as usual—it should be straightforward.

Sure, I don't need to adjust the BIOS settings. You seemed puzzled after watching that video.

I understand, I'm typing at 150 words per minute, but it seems he isn't familiar with accessing the BIOS. It's possible he hasn't even looked up instructions or started his computer yet.

putting Windows on an M.2 SSD or HDD follows the same steps—it doesn't change the process. That's why searches for "how to install Windows into M.2" often return unreliable results. You don't install Windows inside the M.2, but rather on the SSD itself. It's similar to adding a graphics card driver to a PCIe slot or fitting a fan into a PWM slot.

I can perform a backflip. Are you looking for assistance with something?

Disconnect the USB flash drive from the setup and begin the Windows installation process. You’ll need to configure your preferences such as language, Wi-Fi connections, date, and time. The setup will guide you on where to install the operating system—whether on a hard drive or SSD—and let you choose your preferred drive. Continue through the remaining steps until you reach the product key entry section. Once there, Windows will start installing. After completion, you’ll return to the standard desktop where you can add GPU drivers and install additional software as needed. *remember to detach the USB stick when installation is almost done and ensure the BIOS selects the correct drive for booting.*

I value the effort of doing a bit of research before diving into questions. He just searched for "how to install windows" and got his answer quickly. It’s frustrating when someone asks about something simple like that, especially if it feels like an insult to ask such basic things on this forum. You don’t go to a science lab to figure out how to turn on a bunson burner.

Thanks for the update. One more question: I set up Windows on a machine with two hard drives before. After installation, the other drive was behaving identically—every time I created, edited, or deleted files, it mirrored the same actions on the second drive too. Probably related to RAID settings. I think we had to reset and unplug that drive to restore normal operation. It should be ready in a day or two. I’ll go through your instructions carefully and follow them properly. Thanks! @Armakar
