I was checking different options for installing OSI with a CD and USB, but the case I’m getting won’t have room for an optical drive. I’ve been looking at G2A listings—they’re really affordable and I was wondering if I’d actually need a physical drive or just the software code.

You can obtain it on USB or DVD using a program available for download from Microsoft. Simply search online for "Windows XX with product key only" and enter the version number such as 8.1 or 10.
