Hello, I’m about to begin restoring a mid-2009 A1181 MacBook that’s not working properly. I want to know how to install a fresh version of Mac OS without having it already installed. Since I haven’t received the device yet, I can’t test anything directly. Can someone guide me on installing a new copy? Also, if I have a Mac Mini, would using a restore drive be an option to get the MacBook up and running?

Press and hold Cmd-R until the device powers on. This will start the recovery process, downloading the latest version of Mac OS X to your laptop.

It could be, I'm a bit out of the Appleian Macinese. The good news is it won't cause any issues.

Hey team, I wasn't expecting it to be this simple. I plan to test these choices once they're here.

Confirming... You can utilize 'cmd-r' or 'option-r' even without an operating system installed?
