KyleTheCat asked about the recommended overclocking settings for his G3258. He inquired if it's acceptable to run it at 4.2ghz on the stock cooler, compared to his previous setting of 4.0ghz and asked about CPU temperatures during heavy use. He also mentioned not changing the voltage settings and that the fan speed stayed the same. He wanted to know if he should stick with 4.2 or adjust further.

KyleTheCat asked for advice on overclocking his G3258 to 4.2ghz on the stock cooler, seeking confirmation if it’s safe and what temperatures he observed under heavy use. He also inquired about voltage settings and whether leaving them auto was acceptable.

Hi bud, I overclocked mine to 4.2 on the stock cooler and it performed well without temperature spikes, with the fan speed matching the CPU speed. My PC crashed at 4.6, so I’m considering settling for 4.5 now. Just wanted to confirm if that’s a good approach and if you could tell me more about your setup.

Hey mate, I’m curious—what mainboard do you have in your PC? I’m trying to overclock on my MSI H81M-P33 and can’t do it because of the motherboard. Could you help me out?

Sincerely,
Your UBR
