Hello, I’m looking for detailed guidance on how to overclock my CPU. I’ve learned that accessing the BIOS is necessary, but since BIOS settings vary by manufacturer and motherboard, I’m not confident in handling this alone. I’d appreciate advice from more experienced users to avoid damaging my PC. My system is an AMD Athlon™ II X3 445 Processor with three CPUs, a ~3.1GHz CPU, and a Gigabyte GA-780T-D3L motherboard. I also want to know how to enable 4 cores beyond just overclocking. Please share step-by-step instructions, and feel free to add any additional information about my PC in the comments.

I haven't unlocked an AMD core yet, but I think if you do and it doesn't work, the disabled core was defective and why it came as an X3. You might try unlocking it again and adjust CoreV to .5V, up to 1.5V maximum, with a recommendation of 1.45V. Keep in mind that more voltage generates more heat, and higher frequency also increases heat. Make sure your CPU and VRM cooling are adequate.

Please inform me you don't have heatsinks installed on your MOSFETs. If you plan to overclock with a suitable CPU voltage and neglect active cooling for this area, the MOSFETs may fail and the CPU could be damaged. Be cautious with your CPU Vcore.

I attempted to unlock using BIOS, then enabled core unlock, restarted the PC, but couldn't start it. I'm unlikely to try this again.
