I have an AMD FX 6100 and intend to overclock it, so... My motherboard is a Gigabyte 990FX UD3, and I’m not sure how to use the BIOS from it. Can someone assist me? What changes should I make? I tried with a 6300 and it didn’t work. I hope someone can guide me through that strange BIOS.

BIOS is straightforward. For the FX, simply increase the multiplier above the standard boost clock of 3.9 (CPU Clock Ratio) and adjust the correct CPU voltage (System voltage control).

I believe the setup remains identical with the same MB but using the FX 6350 at 4.9GHz, achieving a CPU Clock Ratio of 49 and 1.5v. You might try starting with a multiplier of 40 and 1.45v.

6300 can hit 4.6ghz at 1.4v, so why rush to start at 1.45?

After stable operation near maximum voltage, reducing the voltage becomes simpler than incrementally seeking the highest OC setting. Also, 1.45v isn't unreasonable for a bulldozer.
