Start with the control panel, add or remove programs and uninstall any adware or malicious software. Next, locate the left-over folders in Program Files (x86) and permanently delete them. Go to C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming and repeat the same steps for all adware-related folders. Install Malwarebytes and perform a full system scan to eliminate viruses and adware. Locate your browser shortcut, right-click it, and check the location labeled "Target." Remove any unusual names found there. Finally, click Apply, Save, and complete the process.
In the meantime, Dad got a brand new virus, so I updated my Windows and everything worked fine. Case closed, but thanks for your help, everyone.
