So, I plan to play GTA IV and also Episodes of Liberty City because I haven’t had the chance to finish them before. GTA IV used to open in the menu but when I pressed play it would keep showing the characters and wouldn’t let me enter the menu anymore after a few attempts. Episode of Liberty City got into the menu too, so I didn’t try to mess with it to avoid locking up. On both games I have a text file named commandline with these two entries: put by me -norestrictions -nomemrestrict. I tried adding -vidmem 2048.0 but that broke GTA IV and I don’t know what to do next. Also, when the game launches it says something like 120mb of video memory or 64mb varies depending on GTA IV to ELC. I’m trying to run it on a GTX 1050 with 2gb RAM and an i7 7700HQ. I searched but couldn’t find a solution. How can I get the game working? Thanks

The disk version is really tough to make functional, though the Steam version performs much better in practice.

It operates without it, I managed to get Episodes of Liberty City by running as administrator since it wasn't enabled by default, even though it was chosen for 1920x1080 resolution it performs much worse than expected and still displays 120mb of video memory. GTA IV remains unresolved.
