How to get better at csgo?
Familiarize yourself with each map. It may not appear crucial since you often play Dust 2, but this knowledge will really help. Understanding map signals, typical hiding spots, and more will pay off. You can find an extra feature for CS:GO that displays all map signals in the radar. Click here.
Know the roles
This might seem minor, but knowing each player’s position and how to use it is essential—no matter which role you choose. Here are the main roles:
- Rifler: You’re positioned to take shots from the site, retake objectives, etc.
- AWPer: You’ll focus on AWP for long-range maps like Dust 2, Mirage, Cache, and Inferno.
- Entry Fragger: You’re the first to enter and secure a position. For example, if you’re a T heading for AWP, you’ll push from long or short distances to clear the site first.
- Support: You stay behind the Entry Fragger and trade when they’re picked.
- Lurker: You move stealthily behind enemies to secure kills.
- IGL (In-Game Leader): You direct strategies, manage rotations, decide push timing, and handle echoes.
Positioning
Focus on staying behind cover. Avoid wasting shots and don’t peek unnecessarily. When you need to peek, count to five in your mind before doing so. This usually lets enemies react and try to close the gap.
Communication
Use a microphone—it’s essential now. Tell your team where you spotted enemies and use clear, specific calls. For example, instead of saying “2 SHORT 3 LONG GOOGOOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOG,” say exactly what you know. This helps avoid confusion.
Weapons
You don’t need to memorize every spray pattern. Avoid relying on the P90 constantly; learn to use the AK, M4, and other weapons effectively.
Sensitivity
Lower sensitivity is often better—it makes it easier to hit targets consistently.
Stay calm
When you’re picked, keep your composure. Panicking or overreacting will only lead to mistakes.
Observe a lot
Watch CS:GO pros and tutorials on aiming and positioning. This will improve your skills significantly.
Third-party resources
Skip ESEA for now unless you’re at a low rank. If you want higher-level play, try Faceit—it’s free and has more serious players.
Remember
