Hi everyone, I'm reaching out to see if anyone has experience setting up an internet connection at home. I'm new to this and would appreciate any advice on building a home internet setup with a server. Do you know how to do this?

To build your own internet connection, you’d need to establish numerous links worldwide. I believe you’re referring to a home network. Just purchase a router or switch and connect the devices. There’s more involved than that, but I’m not skilled enough to handle it.

Are you referring only to a local network? There are many videos explaining how to configure a simple network setup.

They introduced data limits on your connection, and you're looking to challenge that while also improving performance.

Your ISP knows exactly how much data you're sending them. No matter what happens on your side, they keep track of the data usage on their side.

Which gadgets should you link together? Do they require internet access outside your residence? You might consider another provider. However, you’ll need an ISP to reach the web. Your current ISP restricts bandwidth, so it’s wise to pay them more or switch to another service.

Comcast is an internet service provider. To overcome data limits, you can opt for a paid unlimited plan. Paying $25 per month for their XFI gateway or $30 if you use your own modem works around the restrictions. Currently, there are no alternatives to the ISP's data caps—most services measure all incoming and outgoing traffic.
