How to create multi language install image on hard drive
Hello everyone! This time of year I collect old electronics and give them to a local charity for those who need a computer. This year I’m donating a few Dell machines. My issue is that I live in Montreal—the best city on Earth—and last year the charity asked if I could set up a bilingual system. I want the experience of choosing language when starting a new PC. I tried contacting Dell for original factory images but haven’t received a reply, so I’m asking for advice here. Any suggestions? Thanks! zog
Hi @Masters2150, thanks for the link. I've downloaded the utility and it's almost what I need. When I started from the USB, the screen said "My language is" with a list of all languages available. This is exactly what I'm after, but in a different format. I'd like to copy the USB contents to a hidden partition on the hard drive so the system boots from there at first. That way, when it starts, the new owner can pick their preferred language and let the installation proceed. I'm considering creating an EFI partition plus another for the USB files, though I'll need a method to guide the boot process to the correct partition. I plan to research this further—hope someone else has done something similar.
