Hi, guys! For Q9650 targeting 3.8~4.0ghz, I’d recommend looking into an air cooler with a low profile around 140mm. This should give you more space for side panel modifications and a bigger cooler could improve performance, as side fans might affect the CPU cooler. Your thoughts on this?

Hello!
With an Arctic Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2 you should likely achieve 4GHz at temperatures between 80°C to 85°C. If you're ready to invest in higher performance, I'd recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 612 Ver.2 featuring six heat pipes compared to the standard model.
Both options perform well and remain under 157 mm in height.
Hope this helps!

Hey there! Your feedback is really helpful. I appreciate the mention of the arctic cooler—it does feel like something out of a monster. At first, I thought it wouldn't work with an 80C chip, but you're right about the temperature. Also, the 612 model is decent, though it's quite tall at 160 mm.

Hey there! Your feedback is really valued. I thought the arctic cooler looked impressive at first, but I realized 80°C might be too high for that chip. Also, the 612 model seems decent, though it's quite tall at 160 mm. Oops, sorry about the mistake with the Cooler Master Hyper 612 Ver.2—it was too big and I missed the right specs. While 80°C feels a bit warm, I considered worst-case scenarios; it should still run smoothly, as it won’t throttle until much higher temps. I get why you’re concerned about thermal performance, but in PC discussions it’s often seen differently.

It wasn't necessary to apologize! Your willingness to share your time made a big difference. I'm planning to choose the arctic cooler.
