How to connect Wi-Fi to an Epson printer?
Re-run the printer's test pages and submit the results.
Reflecting on the previous steps, I'm curious about the Wifi-direct IP address of 192.168.223.1 on the bottom right page, Post #11.
It seems 192.168.1.223 should be the correct one...
Your router is listed as 192.168.1.1, isn't it?
The router's IP address of 192.168.1.1 indicates the gateway that the printer seeks an IP from. This address is frequently used and matches the one your router employs as well. Each time the printer is switched off and then back on, it needs to request a new IP through DHCP. The router supplies an IP temporarily, but only for a limited period defined in the lease details found in "ipconfig /all". According to the lease duration mentioned in Post #1, it exceeds 50 hours. This isn't a significant technical issue at the moment. Keep the lease time unchanged.
The router offers a DHCP address, allowing the printer's IP to be updated. However, if the printer's IP changes, other devices may struggle to locate or connect with it. The router manages DHCP assignments carefully to prevent duplicate IPs. It can also restrict specific IP ranges. Users often overlook these settings and face complications.
The printer should maintain a consistent IP: a static address. This IP must correspond to the printer's MAC address. The router’s role is to monitor device MACs and assign the correct IP accordingly. Checking the ARP table via Command Prompt can confirm this.
It’s important that the router’s DHCP configuration avoids assigning the same IP multiple times. Otherwise, devices might fail to connect.
The printer must use a fixed IP, linked to its MAC address. Ensuring the MAC is unique and correctly registered prevents mismatches. One of the router's tasks is tracking MAC addresses and their associated IPs.
This highlights the necessity: the printer’s identity relies on its MAC, which must remain unaltered and accurately mapped.
no access point available, only the router is connected.
the mac address is set on the router at a specific ip (192.168.1.5), but I suspect I made a mistake during the last router adjustment.
Wi Fi Direct remains enabled, yet I still believe the problem lies with the router.
I can change it to 192.168.1.223, but not today.
I think the issue is on the router since I’m using a ui mask in two different parts of the online router configuration browser.
my router model is TIM NUOVO MODEM HUB+ PLUS Wi-Fi 6
It looks like setting 192.168.1.233 resolves the issue consistently.
