Hello everyone, I need assistance on how to access a device remotely from a remote computer. Specifically, I want to connect via USB from the remote computer to an OBD2 interface on the car, or use Ethernet for the same purpose.

You need an OBDII device with a cellphone connection. Or, a cellphone that can communicate with the OBDII device. This setup must be arranged beforehand.

From a distance, I can connect using a Bluetooth OBD device.
It allows access from a phone or tablet within the Bluetooth range.
Beyond that, a remote link is required for the phone, tablet, or PC.

Ignoring all technical constraints, the goal is to establish a remote connection to the PC, phone, or tablet. Options include Remote Desktop, TeamViewer, or comparable tools.

And keeping the focus on the 'use case' aspect...the reason for accessing OBDII data remotely is to enhance your experience.

if you want to sell some chips for a car and need a configuration, you can figure out the process and set up a remote connection through his computer while keeping your privacy intact. don’t worry about sharing him; just follow the steps to make it work securely.

Ensure you can establish a remote connection to his device, then reach the OBDII unit. This process must be transparent and not hidden or private. I will seek advice from other CarGuys on this matter.
