You can restart the BIOS Event Log on your Dell XPS 15Z (l511z) by performing a short test error on the HDD, then replacing it with a new SSD. This should clear the log and allow you to sell the device with a clean record.

Disable log in bios, save and exit then re-enable it; this should be cleared afterward.

I don't find a method to turn off the event log in the BIOS, and searching doesn't yield any results either.

Are there any places where the "clear log" button appears?

I checked every screen in the Phoenix BIOS but found nothing to delete the log from.
