I don’t know where to place this thread, but I created a RAR file with all my documents and server credentials. Now I lost the most crucial password for it—what a coincidence! Anyone know how to open it without extra cracking tools? Thanks in advance.

You might be able to do it, though not with other programs? No.

You're likely thinking of a password recovery utility, but you're unsure about its reliability.

You have to use other software.. There's one called RAR password unlocker: http://www.passwordunlocker.com/download..._trial.exe I've used this myself and it's good

Understand "cracking software" as tools that try to guess passwords through repeated attempts. NSIS is an example, though it doesn't guarantee success every time.

The only solution is to force them open by testing every possible combination. Programs can handle that for you.
