I constructed a fresh rig and wow, I’m really excited about it! All my expectations came true so far, but now I’m starting to feel a bit greedy. My stable overclock sits at 4.7 with a voltage of 1.34 volts, reaching max temps around 62°C. I thought I had plenty of room, aiming for 4.9. Unfortunately, I couldn’t reach a stable overclock at 4.8 with 1.410 volts. I’m thinking I need to go beyond just adjusting the voltage and multiplier in the BIOS. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

and achieving higher voltage seems to require a modified BIOS
though if increasing from 1.34V to 1.41V doesn’t reach 100MHz, then more than 1.41V might be necessary
adjusting certain aspects of the guide is essential to push it beyond 4.7GHz

no guarantee it will go by 4.7ghz regardless of what you try
theres a good guide to it here with flow chart and explanation of what in the bios does what

I want to ask. Why do you need to increase the CPU's clock speed? I mean, it doesn't necessarily mean that with an overclock you'll see a big boost in gaming performance, but who knows?

I think I aim to be the one with a 6700K at 5.0

I want to ask. Why would you need to increase the CPU's clock speed so high? I mean, even with an OC, you probably won't see a big improvement in gaming performance, but who knows. You might not get much benefit in some games, while others could gain from it. But remember, overclocking isn't just for games—it applies to everything else too.

Yeah, I agree on the last part, but taking this step too far can be risky. A dead CPU is a bad outcome. Worth it?

I wanted to share some thoughts. Why would you want to increase the CPU's clock speed? It doesn't guarantee big gains in gaming performance, even with overclocking, and who knows what else might benefit. Overclocking isn't just for games—it's useful for other tasks too. I agree on that point, but rushing into this could be risky. A bad move here might cause the CPU to fail completely. My 2600k ran at 5ghz for five years and kept working well even after about a year.

on my motherboard it doesn't allow me to raise the voltage beyond 1.410, what should I do instead? I also saw that some sources mention the highest VCORE is 1.45 and others say 1.52—which one is correct? In your case, I reached a limit at 4.7 with 1.34 V. In your opinion, can I increase the clock speed by an extra 2 to 300 MHz?
