In essence, I'm concerned about her device transmitting data to my PC. Reports from Xarp indicated her IP was repeatedly making requests to my IP, which my brother suggested could be an ARP spoof attack.

This situation is extremely challenging from several perspectives. It seems there might be additional factors at play or a misinterpretation of the details provided.

Wait, initially you said her computer was sending information from your IP, now you're saying her computer is sending information to your computer. Which is it?

Instead of trying to block an IP, I recommend identifying the real source of the issues so the fix can be applied properly.

It's not a security issue, just a minor annoyance. The only chance is the app was harmful. Remove it from your PC. What you're saying doesn't make sense. Also this vv

No worries. Can you show us screenshots of the app you are using to detect this traffic? PCs on the same network talking to each other is VERY common, there should be no way for her computer to affect the internet connection of your computer at all. Its simply not possible (at least directly, its possible for WiFi interference to occur). Edit - Unless your using ICS and her PC is feeding yours that is. A few questions. Are you using a router or just a modem? When your internet drops out what does Settings > Networking show? Do you still have an IP address? Can you still ping the router?

This was a week ago when the internet would randomly stop working between 9am and noon. It was scheduled but also happened unexpectedly. My connection is Ethernet, and I’ve noticed the Wi-Fi dongle works smoothly now after cleaning everything. I’m trying to understand what caused it and take steps to prevent future issues. Right now I’m using Xarp ARP detection at the basic setting. I can’t share a screenshot yet because it wasn’t detecting any activity when a request came from my PC to mine. My router is a TP-Link, all cables are fresh, and I still have a stable IP address. I can ping both the router and my network card.

ARP is a fundamental part of how Ethernet functions. It’s completely safe and not harmful in any way, so there’s no need to worry about it.

Hello, here’s a brief overview of the topic. Computers often communicate continuously, and using your connection to access the network or internet is something Windows Mobile HostPot can handle. It’s important to verify that your IP address isn’t identical to someone else’s on your network, as this can lead to conflicts and disruptions. If your ISP provides a limited set of static IPs, it might mean your device is sharing an IP, which could cause issues. Additionally, your internet speeds may be affected by network bottlenecks. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification. I’m here to help and appreciate your understanding. Have a great day!
