Boomer gaming indeed, O2Jam is widely recognized for it. Osu!Mania often employs the 7K rule format as you noted earlier.

Could your keyboard be malfunctioning? The blue switch isn’t appealing, and you’d find it easier with more rounded keys instead of square ones.

You're welcome to get a keyboard that fits your style. However, it might not make much difference. The red switch is simpler to press but can be more error-prone, whereas the blue ones offer slightly more resistance.

StepMania and one Osu game mode are essentially the same genre, only with different graphics.

I understand. Your friend shared some private server files from a game you played, thinking it could help with typing practice.

A) discover a keyboard you enjoy
B) master typing – it will aid your keyboard learning
C) rehearse when I competed; we focused on movement first, then added shooting, gradually improving.

I use ten fingers to type. I’ll give it a shot, though sometimes the buttons feel too close. Players seem to handle seven just fine. Thanks for all the responses!

A few individuals rely on the mouse wheel to control weapons. I fall into that group. Once you adapt, it becomes acceptable.

The mouse wheel isn't ideal for rust prevention. You need to change it within less than 0.5 seconds to avoid damage.

Optimize your gaming setup for comfort and efficiency. Skip the default key configurations and customize only what you truly need. Reduce the number of weapon quick commands to just three, plus one dedicated melee if available. Once you're playing regularly, use consistent key mappings. Practice with your dominant hand from WASD to familiarize yourself with the controls. Over time, you'll develop muscle memory and improve your typing speed. For reference, BF2 was a game where I mastered all my moves after five years of play. I've also refined my technique by using two fingers on my right hand and more on the left due to gaming habits.
