I focus mainly on Rust and have solid accuracy. I’m good at headshots, but my keyboard skills aren’t great. Without warming up before playing, my mouse work is fine, but using the keyboard feels awkward. If I skipped warm-up, I’d play okay with the mouse but struggle a lot with the keyboard movements and overall gameplay. How can I improve my keyboard performance?

Not very skilled at switching between guns using the numbered buttons 1 through 6. I don’t usually press 1 or 6. My mouse has a 1, and T has a 6. I have other key combinations for those numbers, but I can’t consistently use them due to my hand size or discomfort.

A lot of rehearsal really paid off. Doing rhythm games improved my typing skills at the time.

It's similar to osu! but with just two buttons.

I improved a lot by practicing a lot of construction in Fortnite.

For simple movement in FPS, I’d suggest jumping into a strafing class like Voltaic’s Diabotical Shaft Night if you’re already skilled at aiming. They’re available in NA too. They’ve got a guide on strafing that’s coming soon from one of their original creators—early versions look promising, and I can confirm it’ll be great once it launches.

Not sure if there are any rhythm games available these days. I used to play a game with six keys plus the spacebar, but I can't remember its name. You don’t need it—just get comfortable with your input method. For hotkeys that feel awkward on your left hand, you can rearrange key assignments or move controls so they fit better. For example, mapping W→E, A→S, S→D, F→F and using Q, W, A, Z makes it easier. Or I tried the Steelseries Rival 500, though it’s quite intense.

I've noticed more of this approach lately, though I haven't tried it myself. For me, it mainly comes down to consistent practice and time spent playing. Over the past decade, I've relied heavily on WASD in PC games, making it almost instinctive. When it comes to number keys, I usually manage 1 through 4 before it starts to cause trouble.

I understand, it comes down to practicing and getting comfortable with the layout. At first, switching the WASD keys was tricky, but eventually I got the hang of it. Probably this is the reason.
