I need to reinstall Windows due to some small problems with the taskbar and other minor issues. Are there options to back up installed apps from the boot drive? Or can I simply copy the contents of "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)" to another drive and transfer them during the fresh installation? Additional note: I don’t store any files on the boot drive that need backup, only applications. I’m just too lazy to reinstall everything again or set each app up the way I currently have it. Thanks, have a nice day everyone!

You might attempt a fix for Windows, which includes a feature that maintains app functionality.

Failed attempt, tried recently. Indicates it couldn't identify the issue.

You can retain the configuration files and restore them later. Alternatively, utilize established export utilities to preserve settings on programs that support this feature. However, for a complete reset, you'll also need to reinstall the software—possibly some of them. Sharing or copying software entries prevents them from appearing in the Start Menu or the Remove Software list. From Windows' perspective, these items aren't recognized because no registry data exists about them. This absence can cause certain applications to fail to function properly, especially Office applications.

I intended to reinstall while retaining apps. There are numerous options for reinstalling from Microsoft.
