You're preparing to assemble your PC and aim to boost your i7 6700k to 4.6ghz without changing the RAM. The key point is that if the RAM is listed for 3200 MHz with specific timings, you can fine-tune CPU voltage and multiplier settings while keeping the RAM unchanged.

Alright, so my plan is to use the excel sheet from the overclocker's overclock guide to try out some some custom ram settings until i find one that works.

CPU and memory multipliers can be adjusted separately. You have the freedom to overclock one without affecting the other. Bclk will update both simultaneously, though you don't have to modify it.

If issues arise, ensure you have the most recent BIOS—new DRAM is still failing, and motherboard manufacturers are regularly updating their BIOS for these components.
😉
Be aware that running your CPU at 3200 might need some adjustments to the CPU overclock.
