How to 2 PC stream setup
Hi everyone, I've been streaming on Twitch for a while now and I'm always looking to upgrade my setup. One issue that keeps coming up is the framerate dropping in games during streaming. I've read about people using two PCs—one for streaming and one for gaming—which helps avoid any FPS drops. I'm really curious about this and would consider buying a new PC if you could advise me. Specifically, I have a 1080ti with an i7 7700k and 32GB RAM. Does the second PC need to be similar in specs, or should I focus on certain requirements? Also, how challenging is it to get everything set up properly? Thanks!
A simple configuration involves using a splitter cable for the GPU output. Connect one end to your monitor and the other to a video capture card. The required system setup varies based on your framerate and quality needs, but capturing 1080p at 60fps is manageable with a dedicated capture card.
Displaying PCs require strong rendering capabilities. Therefore, it isn't necessary to match your existing performance, since a powerful GPU isn't always essential for encoding on a CPU. Still, your current setup should work fine without major problems.

This is pretty much it. Except the capture card won't take any load off of the render PC, it just captures the video. Also, you won't need a "splitter" cable if you get a capture card with no latency eg Elgato HD60 Pro.
