I notice many people build PCs using e8400 or e8500 components for YouTube videos. Common parts include the GIGABYTE GTX 750 with 2GB 128Bit GDDR5, Zebronics motherboard ZEB-G31 with socket 775, and two 2GB DDR-2 667 MHz PCs. Is it really a good value for the price? Does it perform well for gaming?
I think it will hit the limits of Undertale. And if you're fortunate, you could run Minecraft at the smallest render distance and achieve a full 60 FPS once Optifine is installed. Or increase the render distance and hit a cinematic 20 FPS. The options are endless.
Alternatively, you might like games such as Sid Meier's Civilization V, which won awards. Challenge your opponents while the game challenges your CPU in this timeless strategy title.
However, honestly, even if it's very affordable, if it can't perform the core function you designed for, it's not worth the effort. Consider trying Sandy Bridge, or if you need a 775 board, opt for a Core 2 Quad.
Core 2 quad is certainly a better option. However, I'm curious—does it really perform well? I believe it's suitable for work. But games typically rely on one core instead of multiple cores. Between the Core 2 Quad and the E8500, which one excels in single-core performance? (Please let me know if I'm mistaken)
