How scary is a bios update?
How scary is a bios update?
Yeah, honestly, I really didn’t want that “flashback button.” I’ve seen enough stories about people spending hours just hoping it would work, only to end up frustrated. I don’t feel confident about it now. It’s still interesting when your system doesn’t have the right hardware to load the BIOS properly, though.
It was the sole method to complete this application...I initially planned for Z790 but found too few boards in stock when purchasing. It must have been an early adopter benefit. On the other hand, the process was straightforward, and MSI even offered a USB flash drive with their motherboard.
oh yeah, thats nice. MSI is a weird company/ brand, i didn't want to buy another MSI board tbh but this was the only matx board (b550m mortar wifi) i could find with optical out, 6 sata ports, 5 audio out, a flashback button (i didn't think the 5800X3D is compatible, but after all it was, still had to update the BIOS afterwards though as it wasn't "fully" compatible) still not ideal, even though it has a physical led button, i dont see any leds (outside debug?) and i still have issues controlling the leds of my trident z, only software that *sometimes* does it is OpenRGB, it doesn't have a lot of USB outs, the front USB plug is weirdly blocking the SATA drive plugs... stuff like that...
Absolutely, I felt frustrated by how much personal information Dragon Center requests just to manage RGB. It seems excessive. I simply switched the physical switch to shut down all the LEDs.
