Hello everyone, I own an ASUS ROG Strix SCAR III equipped with an i7 9750H and RTX 2070 setup, using it for deep learning training. Models consistently run for over eight hours, with CPU temps near 90°C and GPU temps between 65-70°C. The GPU power consumption varies from 80 to 110W, and I always keep the charger connected. I’m worried about the long-term health of these parts, particularly the CPU under sustained heat and the laptop’s power system. Is it safe to keep using it like this, and what effects might it have on their lifespan? TIA...

the throttle point is at 100c for a reason lol. 90C is very hot but shouldnt have extremely adverse effects on your components. if it spikes higher than 90c i'd maybe undervolt a little but 80-90C shouldnt be cause for worry. assuming youre running it completely stock, no reason to think its abnormally dangerous
95C is clearly performing well. Concerns about the CPU are minimal; focus will be on surrounding parts such as memory. Reducing voltage is simple and can significantly lower temperatures. A refurbishment might be worth considering, along with applying thermal pads to hotspots to improve heat distribution.
