How much did you increase your Steam account?
To be completely truthful, I haven't checked my steam profile or anyone else's since trading cards and personalized backgrounds started. I’m not even sure how I ended up at level 19. I don’t understand its significance or what to do with it. My featured badges come from Borderlands 2, Metro 2033, and the 2012 Steam Christmas sales. My background is also from Metro 2033. In a way, my profile feels a bit modern because of recent events like Exodus/Borderlands 3 and a sale, which makes it seem relevant.
I'm fairly certain the PlayStation Network still holds steam for the largest platform, though that's kind of splitting hairs
The 360 (possibly the Xbox one? I don't know, never used it) is (to my personal sphere of experience anyway) the platform where achievements had any "meaningful" reason to exist, and that's largely because it was displayed in a very quick view right alongside your gamertag. With Steam, that's not really a thing that I know of. You have to actively search out someone's profile to see their achievements (how many points they have?) and/or their steam level.
I forgot about console... I didn't place them in the same group as Steam, but I think they should. The question is, if PlayStation were the leading platform and you were at the bottom, would you still rank above anyone on Steam, even if it was the second biggest platform? Does this make sense? I'm tired.
It probably comes down to personal priorities. Most people I've talked to seem indifferent about it. It's something that exists, I'm sure—it might just be a marketing tactic—but I don't measure myself against others or judge my performance. If you enjoy gathering achievements, gaming scores, trophies, or your Steam profile level, go all out. Make the most of the fun you can get. Life is short enough to appreciate the little things. Your experiences are likely different from mine, and vice versa.
A genuine gamer, all these other people in this thread don't even come close >
I almost completely agree with ya'. There's sales on good games, you just gotta browse the depths of Steam rather than anything they got goin' on at the home page. What types of games do you play? I think I can find a few games for ya' that are around the price you're looking to pay.
