You'll achieve higher FPS than your screen, don't worry

use my rig for example. i use an 8600k with 16gb ram and 1070ti
i get above 300 fps on all resolutions unless i have a lot of shit running in the background then there are a few places where where i get in the 200s.
Everything on stock.

I know csgo is a CPU intensive game but honestly doubt there should be much of a difference in our processors when it comes to that game.
If you want more fps, there's a workshop map that creates configs which you can use. You'll see an option to turn the fps boost on.

So just to confirm, your FPS is around 200-300, is that typical?

you're operating at a low level, but you should be getting a bit more than that actually.
i even reached 500 on some areas.

What nVidia configurations should I use? It seems I'm experiencing issues around 180, maybe adjusting those settings would help.

I think that’s impossible. I’m 99% sure there’s a hard cap at 300.
