The cables on paper don’t have very high ratings, yet they can withstand continuous heavy use. For instance, on my 1500i, the overcurrent protection activates at 40A, which corresponds to about 420W under +12V—this is close to the cable’s limit and could cause melting from a short circuit. You can handle substantial power through a single cable without concern. The second point is mainly for extreme situations, like pushing a water chiller beyond its limits.
