You're considering whether Windows 10 is better for gaming than Windows 8.1. It's a solid choice if you want modern features, better performance, and updated security. If you need older software support, 8.1 might still work but could be less optimal. Overall, 10 offers a more future-proof experience for gaming.

To work with DX12 you'll need Windows 10, and gaming works well on it.

Windows 10 offers strong performance for gaming. It’s a solid choice. You can expect up to 120% improvement over Windows 8.x and support for Direct X 12.

It seems the drivers for Windows 10 are still not fully stable on my system, especially with Nvidia cards. However, AMD cards work seamlessly and are fully compatible with Windows 10.

Up to now, playing games on Windows 10 has been smooth and reliable. It’s probably just as good as earlier releases, though not significantly better. DirectX 12 support is necessary for most modern titles, but that hasn’t caused any problems yet. I’m running a Nvidia graphics card and haven’t encountered any driver issues. I’ve been using Windows 10 for about two days now after its launch.

Disgusting. Utter waste of time. Keep using Windows 7 with Vulkan forever.
