Thank you for the helpful reply. I’ll consider the MacBook Air this year or wait for any new models in the first half of next year.

In general, I value the seamless feel, tidiness, and dependable performance of Mac OS. While Windows offers some benefits—particularly for gaming—I haven’t spent much time playing games since starting university. I’ve been working at my nearby Apple Store for more than a decade. Feel free to ask me anything.

You often interact with customers seeking repairs at the Apple store. Macs are known for their reliability and long lifespan. The typical lifespan can vary, but many users report years of consistent performance.

It varies a lot depending on the person. My mom got a MacBook when I was younger because she was frustrated with how quickly her devices slowed down from Windows updates. I received my iMac partly due to that issue and because I work with systems that use Unix/Linux-style file systems, which Mac OS supports. My brother is planning to get a MacBook later, since it’s simpler for him to use and he doesn’t want to deal with frequent Windows updates since he won’t use it often.

I'm frustrated by the frequent updates and persistent pop-up alerts. I'm unsure if it's related to Windows, but my laptops are slowing down significantly after about a year, even though they're not faulty.
