I've noticed how quickly the system starts when using a straightforward firmware and hardware setup. By "boot time" I mean the period from power-on to initializing, not just the startup. My laptop, lacking gaming features, runs about 2 to three seconds for POST, but booting is slower. The SSD is bloated now, causing full boots to take around three rotations of the Windows logo, whereas it only needed one and a half when it was brand new. Fast startup even skipped loading the circle. I compared this with an HP EliteBook that has more complex firmware—its POST takes over ten seconds, and even its Windows boot is slower due to a SATA SSD. On my older Dell machine, POST and OS loading took just over a second. Recently, people say DDR5 systems take longer to boot. Is this accurate? And what are your own POST and boot times like?

My 5700U HP runs fast—about 2-3 seconds to respond—but starts up in roughly 7 seconds. My desktop is quicker, around 5 seconds for boot and 15 for startup. This performance is typical for newer systems using DDR5 memory. More details are available below.

Press the button to access the login screen, which takes about 12 seconds. Press the next button for the login screen, taking roughly 33 seconds.

My setup generally needs about 40 seconds for BIOS setup and roughly one minute, occasionally longer when I press the power button until I reach the desktop or lock screen. The MSI boards have been checked for the longest boot times on AM5, and adding DDR5 only makes it worse.

The motherboard you're using for AM5 is likely an AM5-compatible board such as an MSI B550M PRO, ASUS ROG Strix Z590, or similar models designed for AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors.

It seems like you're asking about a recent bios update and whether it was automatically generated or manually set.

It surprised me to find out this on my system. What could be the reason?

I wasn't sure, but I unboxed the hardware and tried it out.

The issue lies in how BIOS updates and configurations shift over time. In my experience, X670 generally boots more slowly compared to B650.
