How does the FSP Hydro K PRO 750W fit with the 4070s and 5800X3D?
Hi everyone! I'm just starting out with PC building and already have a system with FSP Hydro K PRO 750W, RTX 4060 and AMD 5600G. I'm thinking about upgrading to 5800X3D and RTX 4070 Super next year and want to know if my current power supply can handle it or if I need to replace it.
Hey there
The Hydro K isn't the top choice in my opinion. It should work fine, though I'm not entirely confident. I believe you'll need an adapter that comes with the 4070 S since the Hydro doesn't support the newer 12v power for the latest GPU.
750w should suffice for the new components, but I can't confirm how durable the unit will be.
Hello there! I have an existing PC setup with FSP Hydro K PRO 750W, RTX 4060 and AMD 5600G. Could you share the age of your power supply unit? Where are you based, what is your budget for a PSU, and which store do you prefer to buy from?
Hydro K Pro is a budget model. It uses 230vO input, has a double forward topology on the main, low quality components, and lacks OTP. A 750w unit won't work well with such devices. Avoid using high-end gear with a weak power supply like this one.
