How do you keep your home network safe?
A normal wifi password is totally okay. Most people at home aren't in danger because someone trying to break into it from outside isn't easy or common sense says we should just use our brains instead of getting scared. Just stay careful online, do things the right way, and you'll be all good.
In most cases, a special 12-character password works fine. If your router offers a "guest" Wi-Fi network, just use that one so visitors stay separate from you and your family. If you have children, type in the main house password instead. This way, kids can only share the guest code with friends they meet.
It all depends on what you need. If you only want it for you, that's easy. But if you're planning to run a game server or host files for yourself, your kids and their friends, or if you need others to get access to your private network and its stuff... then things are more complicated.
