You've just set up FreeNAS on an old server and need to configure it for internet access alongside a 500GB RAID1 setup. Make sure you adjust the network settings to allow external connectivity, enable port forwarding, and ensure your firewall rules permit traffic outside the LAN. Are you in the web interface correctly? Navigate to storage, create a mirror for RAID 1. For internet access, consider FTP, OwnCloud, or set up Samba/NFS as needed.

Choose between ifconfig or ipconfig. Once you open it, you should be able to retrieve the IP address. Alternatively, check your router settings to list connected devices and confirm its presence.

I simply rebooted the system to check for improvements. It’s now appearing on your main routers connected devices list after the restart, so you’re not wasting time complaining.

For internet access, the simplest method is online, though some users struggle with basic tasks like adding hyperlinks in emails. Streaming videos should also work from there. Regarding Samva/NFS for LAN connections—yes, that’s correct.
