I located an IMAC from around 2007 in good shape, functioning in a bin outside a school with other items. The computer displays the username and password on a sticky note, but it won’t log in because it needs connection to the education department servers—which I can’t access. When I try to start it, I can’t reach the command section to reset it. If you need to restore it, you may want to consider selling it for around $200 or less depending on its condition.

Attempted Command_Option+R but received no response, preventing internet access since I can't reach the command area or log in.

Be cautious with this advice, as taking items from someone's trash can may still be seen as theft, particularly if the item has a registered serial number that can be traced. Just a word of caution.

It was also in the bin, along with an old DELL from 2011 and some battery packs. The batteries aren't great here—they only keep a computer running for about 10 minutes on full charge before they drain completely.

It was in the trash, but it's still seen as theft in certain areas. I'm not expressing personal feelings, just offering a clear heads-up.
